“Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be.” – Khalil Gibran
When the gyms closed last year because of Covid; I had to figure out what to do for exercise. Normally, I would go to the gym three times a week, and I was pretty active at work. That changed last year. Teaching on Zoom meant I had to sit most of the day when I typically was on my feet all day. I pulled out my old bicycle from the shed and started riding near my house. As I rode more, I was able to go farther and farther. Eventually, I was able to make it to Uptown Charlotte from my house. Most days I ride down the rail trail and cruise around Uptown. Lately, I have been wanting to check out other spots in Charlotte. I spent different parts of town during spring break.

I took these photos on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. This section runs towards Freedom Park. It’s a nice ride that runs right by the creek. It serves a duel purpose. It is a a great path and it helps with flooding. The ones with gravel road I took at Latta Park. It was on the way to the Greenway.

This is one of the toughest routes that I ride. It is a longer with this one huge hill. Getting to Freedom Park is easy because it is mainly downhill, but the way back is straight up! I usually have to take a short break on the way back in order to rest for a few moments.
