“Not life, but good life, is to be chiefly valued.” – Socrates

I have a love hate relationship with the snow. As a kid I loved it when it actually snowed where I lived at. I grew up in Augusta, Georgia. Snow was a very rare occurrence. I remember back in the 80’s there was a really bad snow storm. It shut the entire city down. While it was only a couple of inches, it doesn’t much winter weather to shut down an entire southern city. When I graduated college, my wife and I moved to Louisville, Kentucky, and that is when my relationship with snow changed. It snowed there more frequently and with way more intensity. My last straw with the snow what when it iced at the same time, and our power was out for a week. We were fortunately able to stay at a friends house until the power came back on. That’s when I became annoyed with the snow.

It has been a while since it last snowed here in Charlotte. These photos I took back in 2018. I do love to photograph snowy landscapes. This first shot is one of my favorites. It is actually a random lot near my house that normally looks pretty junky, but with the snow it actually looks beautiful. I decided to post some snow shots this morning because they are calling for snow here this coming weekend. Hopefully we will get some of the good stuff, and I will be able to check it out around town.
