“There’s never one sunrise the same or one sunset the same.” – Carlos Santana

I am grateful for sunsets. Especially this time of the school year. This school year has been especially hectic. I thought last school year was crazy, this one has a new standard for what an insane school year is supposed to look like. The reason why I am grateful for sunsets is because the day is over. Sometimes there are rough days that I am glad that I don’t have to do again. It’s okay to celebrate the end of a rough day. Too often people criticize for that. There are moments when I am glad a lesson is over because it didn’t go well, and I need a day to decide how I am going to fix it. Sunsets can also be a celebration of a great day. Knowing that I was successful or was able to enjoy life is a reason to be happy. Sunsets are also a reminder that tomorrow is coming, and you get an opportunity to turn it around or add on to the success of the previous day.

This is one of my favorite sunset photos. I took this last year at Christmas over at Fripp Island, South Carolina. The sun hits the house in the back just right. If you zoom in you can see how the light fills up around the house. This was a sunset worth celebrating.
A gorgeous sunset, indeed.
