“There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know.” – Harry S Truman

I used to only just drive by Charlotte in the fall, and all of these great scenes would just pass me by. I would often miss some of the best views that are just only a few minutes from my house. I really didn’t start to explore my city until the pandemic started last year. All of the gyms were closed in my area, and I need some way to exercise. I pulled my bicycle out of the shed, and I started riding. While I was riding, I kept finding these spots in Charlotte to take pictures. I bought a bag to keep my camera in while I rode around town capturing all I see.

I took these photos at Freedom Park a few weeks ago. This is one of my favorite parks in Charlotte. My grandparents used to live near here, and they would take me here every time I would visit. Freedom Park has everything the perfect park should have. A playground, walking trails, ball fields, and a lake to walk around. It’s a great place to bring the family for the day, or just to come and chill out for the day. I love visiting this park, but I don’t come here as often because it takes me a little longer to ride my bike here. Also, the hill on the way back to straight up for almost 2 miles. It is pretty easy to get there but getting back takes some serious effort.

When I first took these photos, I posted a few of them on Instagram and a did a poll with them to see which ones were the most popular. I like to do that from time to time because I love hearing about which photographs others prefer. Sometimes I am surprised. There have been times where I have felt that one photo was better than the other, but others see things differently. It doesn’t bother because I like of the photos I take, especially the ones I post. What I learn the most from polls is what type of photos do people prefer. This helps me know what I should photograph, and how I can do in order to show off my skills the most.

Here are some of my previous posts about Freedom Park.
