Why Through Griffin’s Lens – Throwback Thursday

“When your work speaks for itself, don’t interrupt.” – Henry J. Kaiser

One thing about Instagram that I think needs improving is the about me section. It is way too short. It’s very difficult to describe who you are in so few characters. This morning, I am going to reintroduce myself to the social media world. My name is Joe, and I love photography. I grew up in Augusta, GA. I moved to Louisville, Kentucky to earn my Masters of Divinity. I finished that degree, and then moved to Charlotte, NC to go into teaching. Why Charlotte? One I was born here, and two most of my family lives here. I have been married for almost 17 years, and I have two children. I have always loved photography. I had film point and shoot cameras growing up, and I always enjoyed taking pictures. When we planned on going on a cruise in 2017, I bought a Nikon D3200 from the pawn shop near my house. It was the only DSLR that I could afford at the time. After we went on the cruise, I looked back at some of the photos I took, and I took some really awesome pictures. I decided that I wanted to share my photos and experiences with the world. That’s when I started my Instagram account. I wanted to show the world what I saw through my lens. I tried to use my first name, but Joe is a very common name. Also, since I am an elementary school teacher, I am referred to by my last name.

Other fun facts:

  • I love coffee!
  • I love riding my bicycle!
  • I have been teaching for almost 10 years.
  • We love to go camping!

This is one of the first photos I ever took with my old camera. We took a day trip to the North Carolina mountains. This is the Brown Mountain Overlook. This is a popular spot to stop and take photos. It is well known as a UFO watching area too.

I could put this post on my about me page. What are some things I am missing?
