Best Sunrise Ever – Throwback Thursday

“Another sunrise, another new beginning.” ~ Jonathan Lockwood Huie

How do you start your day? To me the beginning of the day is one of the most important parts of the day. My mornings typically start of crazy because my goal is to get my kids on the bus by 6:20. They typically wake up before me so they can at least start getting ready. While they wrap up getting ready, I make everyone’s coffee and hot chocolate. After I get them on the bus, I take a seat with my coffee. I read and write for a little bit. After I finish that I start to get ready. Before I go to bed every night, I prepare everything in order for me to have a good morning. I have my clothes out for the next day, I make sure my Microsoft Surface is charged, and the most important part is having my coffee set up to brew right before I wake up. Those moments before I go to work in the morning are when I get focused and ready for the day.

Typically, when I am on vacation I do not wake up to an alarm. On our last day staying at Fripp Island, South Carolina I woke up early to catch sunrise. I saw that it was going to be a clear morning, so I timed to where I would wake up right before the sun came up. I walked over to the beach from the house we were staying at, and I sat up close to the shore. When I came up to the shore it was still dark outside, and I had no idea what kind of show I was in store for. This is one of my favorite set of photos I took in all of 2020. Every few minutes as the sun came up, the entire sky was filled with different colors. The best part was every time the sky changed colors, the water would change with it. This was by far one of the best sunrises I have ever seen. This was a great way to start the day.
