“Who has a harder fight than he who is striving to overcome himself.” – Thomas a Kempis

We let ourselves be our own worst enemies. We often tell ourselves the same lies and stories over and over again. We tell ourselves that things cannot change, we cannot be any better, life will always be this way, or things will always be the same. We allow the problem to look so overwhelming that we don’t see any way out. We get this idea in our heads that if we cannot fix it quickly, then it can’t be fixed. When it comes to making ourselves better, we have to take it one step at a time. Don’t look at all of the issues at once, but choose one that would be the easiest to correct first. Choose something you can easily address first, then take one the next one. We can’t be perfect overnight, but we can make ourselves better one day at a time.

I took these photos last year. I haven’t been out on my bike in a while. I have been super busy, and I just recovered from a nasty cold. I will be heading out again, and hopefully I will have something to share. I took these photos while I was riding on my favorite spot, the light rail trail that leads to Uptown Charlotte. This is one of those views I have ridden several times, but I happened to see this view at just the right angle. When I saw this view I knew I need to take a few photos of it.
