By the Stairs

“The only thing you sometimes have control over is perspective. You don’t have control over your situation. But you have a choice about how you view it.” – Chris Pine

Real estate and outdoor photography have something in common, it’s all about location. In order to find the right location to photograph, you have to know where to look. The best way I have found great locations local to me is by following local photographers on Instagram. I see some of the cool places they take photos of, and then I go check out that area. Sometimes I even search for some of the local hashtags in the area. When I am traveling, I allow Google to be my guide. I usually find some travel blogs, local government, and even the place I am staying to show me some places to check out. A little research goes a long way.

I took these photos during my last visit to Uptown Charlotte. I had just finished taking shots of Marshall Park, then I decided to snap some shots of this beauty that is right by the stairs that leads up to the observation deck. I typically take most photos from the observation deck at Marshall Park. It has a great view of the park with Uptown Charlotte in the background.
