That Time of the Year

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.” – Anne Bradstreet

I look back at all of my photos that I took last winter, and they all had one thing in common. There was nothing on the trees. Everything is pretty baren and gray. Then spring comes, and it is almost as if everything has come to life. What was filled with only dead branches and twigs is now covered with new life. What’s even greater is how some trees this time of year are covered in bloom. It’s great going around town and seeing all of the amazing trees filled with flowers.

I took these shots a few weeks ago at Second Ward Park in Uptown Charlotte. I last visited when I did my tour of Uptown parks. I try to get out on my bicycle when I can. I haven’t been able to get out much lately because I have been super busy at the house. However, spring break is next week, and I am looking forward to some quality time with my family and my camera.
