What do you do after a hike? – Throwback Thursday

“The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.” – Mike Murdock

We all have a daily routine. For some, it is those habits that they do every day in the same order. For others, it is certain actions are completed, but not in any particular order. Believe it or not, everyone has a daily routine. If that routine is healthy makes all the difference.

My family and I enjoy going on long hikes when we go on vacation (mostly me). We typically hike somewhere we can see a particular site or view. The end of the hike typically has a goal. For me it is to see a waterfall or an incredible view, often times for my family it is the snack afterwards. I took my son hiking at Crowders Mountain earlier this summer. I asked him what he remembers, and he says the Olive Garden. That’s where we went afterwards. When we hiked up to Anna Ruby Falls last summer, we stopped at Fred’s Peanuts. This place has some of the best boiled peanuts ever. We always stop here while we visit Helen, GA. We visited both times last summer, we loaded up on boiled peanuts, and they were typically eaten by the time we got back to our campsite.

I had some fun with the photos of took of Fred’s. I made some black and white photos of the photos I took. While I think the color looks great, the black and white really bring out the details.

What are your favorite things to do while hiking and after a hike?

  1. Sounds like a good habit to do something after a hike. For us, if it is a hike near home, it is always about the lunch or afternoon coffee, mainly the afternoon coffee. Further away from home, it may eb about a book and glass of wine down by the lake or sea. Have a good Thursday
