First Trip with a DSLR

“The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.” – Jonas Salk

Back in 2017, I bought my first DSLR camera 2017. It was a used Nikon D3200 I picked up from the pawn shop. I bought it because we were going on a cruise at Christmas. It was going to be the first time I left the country, so I wanted to make sure I captured the moment the best I could. Having a camera was a completely new experience for me. For years, most of my pictures were taken with a cell phone. The camera on a phone has come a long way, but for me, there is something about holding a camera in my hand while taking photos. For a reason, it is easier for me to capture the shot I am looking for.

I wanted to practice taking photos before we went on the cruise. We took a trip up to the North Carolina Mountains. We drove to Linville Falls. On the way there we passed the Brown Mountain Lookout. I noticed it while looking at my Google Maps app, and I saw this random spot that showed it was red due to traffic. We stopped and enjoyed the view.
