Waiting

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” – Robert Frost

As an amateur photographer, there are a few things that I absolutely love to take pictures of. One, any moving body of water. From streams and rivers to waterfalls. I could hang out there all day just taking pictures of capture every slight change as the water flows by. Second, I enjoy taking photos of nature. Any type of scene that shows the great outdoors is one of my favorites. Another favorite is capturing any wildlife I might see. This is rare, but I have been known to chase some butterflies around a flower garden. Finally, I love capturing a great sunrise or sunset depending on the time of day my opportunity falls on. Some of my favorite shots are of the sun rising.

Last summer we went camping over in Golden Valley, North Carolina. We found a fun camping resort that we were able to hang out at for a few days. The resort had a pool, a splash park, several hiking trails, and my kid’s favorite was the lake. One evening, my and I sat by the lake right before sunset. My goal was to see if I could capture some great photos of the sun coming down right by the lake. I waited and waited until time finally past the golden hour, and sunset passed right by us. Right before the sun set, a large number of clouds came in to cover the sun.

I never captured that great sunset shot that evening, but I still was able to capture some pretty cool photos of the lake with a reflection of the sky.

Here are a few of my favorite sunset and sunrise shots.
