“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”- Melody Beattie

I am asked all the time how I am able to take so many pictures. Between being a teacher and having a family, finding the time can be tricky. I try to get out at least once a week and take pictures of where I live in Charlotte, N.C. I have a few regular spots I like to visit on my bicycle from my house, but I also like to explore the city to see what I will find. The reason why I go out is more for me than it is for the quest to always have something to post. These longer bike rides and photo sessions benefit me because they help me to clear my head for the week. It gives me a moment to process everything that has happened in the last week. When I am standing at a location, taking photos, everything just seems right with the world. All I can think about is what is right in front of me.

I took these photos a while back while I was riding around Freedom Park in Charlotte, N.C. On the side of Freedom Park runs the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. This is one of my favorite places in town to take photos because while I am there, I don’t even feel like I am inside the city. I feel like I am surrounded by nothing but nature. This is a great place to just stay still and reflect.

Thank you for sharing those great shots and also your information about your life in NC. What I love and am grateful about photographers is their ability to take us to places we never imagined existed or would be able to visit.
