Doing What Makes Me Happy

When I work hard doing something that I enjoy I don’t mind doing it. At my church, I volunteer on the parking team. My job is to make sure everyone knows where to go when they come, and they are able to park safely, easily, and quickly in order for them to get to church in a timely manner. It’s not an easy role. I normally walk around 5 miles on any given Sunday that I volunteer. While it can be exhausting, I love doing it. Even when things seem completely crazy, you will see me out there having the time of my life. I love taking photos and creating various types of content to post online. It takes time to have something ready to share with the world. My goal is to post quality content in order for others to enjoy. It takes time, but I like doing it. It makes me happy. I teach 5th grade, and it’s a lot of work. I enjoy doing it. It’s not an easy job, but I like it. While there are parts of the job that I am not a fan of, I do love watching my students learn, grasp new concepts, and explore their curiosity.

One of my goals for 2023 is to focus on doing what makes me happy. From my hobbies to spending time with my family. My goal is to do things and be around people who bring happiness to my life. Taking care of me starts with doing things that I enjoy, and focusing my energy on those activities that are with me.

I took these photos last summer when I hiked at South Moutain State Park. They had some pretty cool waterfalls that I wanted to check out. These shots I posted here are from the journey to the falls. The trail runs along the Jacob Fork River. I loved taking hikes like this last year, and I hope I will have the opportunity to take more in 2023. Hiking is another thing that makes me happy. It’s an opportunity for me to get out and enjoy nature. There are some great places to hike where I live in Charlotte, but none of them compare to places like this.
