Clarity on Clear Day

“A place for everything, everything in its place.” – Benjamin Franklin

A habit that I love doing is taking weekly if not bi-weekly bicycle rides around Charlotte. These rides force me to unplug. It’s difficult to stare at a phone while riding through town. My goal is to ride around 8 to 10 miles a week. These rides give me more than just an opportunity for fitness. They give me an opportunity to reflect on the previous week, refocus on what’s important, and prepare my mind for the next week.

Another thing I enjoy about these rides is they allow me the opportunity to take photos around Charlotte and practice my photography. I believe one of the reasons I have improved as a photographer in the few years is I get out on a weekly basis. These moments of practice have allowed me to become more familiar with my camera, its settings, and knowing which lens to use in which situation.

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago when I rode my bike over to Freedom Park. This is one of my favorite parks to visit in Charlotte. Just about every section of the park has a great view. There are many opportunities to take some great landscape photos any time of the year. This day was particularly great because of the clear skies and warm temperatures.
