“Every sunset is an opportunity to reset. Every sunrise begins with new eyes.” — Richie Norton

Starting something is difficult to do. It is never easy to take the first step in the journey you are about to embark upon. Every journey has a starting point. Sometimes it is easy to identify that starting point, but other times it’s a little more difficult. I remember when I decided to become a teacher. I was looking for a new job at the time, and I couldn’t find the right fit. I was up very early in the morning because I couldn’t sleep, and I received an email from Careerbuilder of all places, that talked about becoming a teacher in Charlotte. I figured out why not. I applied, and was accepted contingent on me passing the Praxis exam. I studied for months and passed. Fastforward 10 years later, and I find out that I considered one of the top 25% of teachers in North Carolina. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I would not have arrived at this point if I had not started.

These photos show the beginning of most of my bike rides. I usually start off by heading down the light rail trail that leads to Uptown Charlotte. I usually follow this path until I start to head towards my final destination.

Great post and perspective.
