How Do You Prioritize What’s Important?

“Either you run the day or the day runs you.” – Jim Rohn

We all know that a normal day only has 24 hours. Some of those hours we are asleep and others we are working, so how do we make sure we do what matters? It is all about setting the right priorities. It’s hard to set the right priorities in a day, however if we are intentional, we make it possible. There are certain activities that I do every day and week to ensure that I am taking care of myself in order to be my best self. Here are the things I do to keep my priorities in check.

✍️ I enjoy writing and reflecting daily. I wake up early in order to have time to do this.

📷I love taking photos. I used to only practice photography when I went out of town, but now I try to get out at least once a week to practice my craft.

🚴‍♂️ I love being outside. Weather permitting, I try to get out on my bicycle at least once a week. This is my time to unplug and reflect on the week ahead.

⏲️Being a teacher means I have to bring work home, however, I set aside days during the week where the only thing I bring home is my lunch box and coffee cup.

I took these photos while I was out and about enjoying some time in Uptown Charlotte. I was able to use my new tripod to take some long-exposure shots at Romare Bearden Park. This is a beautiful park in Uptown that features this water feature, a huge field, and trees that bloom every spring.
