Do You Miss Opportunities?

“Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” – Abraham Lincoln

When local events are showcased on TV, they always have cameras film different parts around town. Whenever I saw it, I would wonder where that was, and think that it would be a great place to take a picture. Before the pandemic, I would rarely take pictures around Charlotte. Most of the pictures I would post were from when we took trips out of town, and rarely did I post photos from around Charlotte. When the pandemic started, travel didn’t seem like something that was going to happen anytime soon. With the gyms closed I started to ride my bicycle around town. Eventually, I started to bring my camera with me because I kept seeing so many great opportunities to take pictures.

I took these photos at a new location that I found last year. I was riding down the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, that runs beside Uptown Charlotte. I missed my turn, and then I discovered this lovely spot. While at this location, you can’t tell that you are in the middle of the city. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a dual-purpose path. It serves a beautiful walking and biking path that runs through most of the city of Charlotte. Its other purpose is to serve as a means to reduce flooding in the city, allowing most of the water to flow in the storm drains as opposed to staying on the surface.
