Finding Calm – Throwback Photos with New Thoughts

“Right now, I am trying to be in a place of calm, a place where I can chill out and then handle the chaos of life better. You don’t just get it overnight; you have to work at it. It’s a daily struggle.” – Jackee Harry

I love it when people say that we just need to calm down. Often times many people will make it seem like calming down is a simple task like walking or sitting down. Being able to stay calm or allow ourselves to be calm in stressful situations takes practice and experience. The best way to know how to stay calm is to know when you are stressed. A life without stress is tough to come by, but recognizing when you are stressed. When we know we are stressed, then we can take steps to manage the stress. I feel like that is step one to handling stress, it’s being able to recognize when you are in a stressful situation, and using that knowledge to help you process it and know what’s next.

I took these photos a few springs ago. I was riding my bike down the Irwin Creek Greenway, and I stumbled upon this little park along the way. It’s called Fraizer Park. The timing could not have been better. The park was covered in pink blooms. It was such a peaceful and beautiful setting. I try to take as many photos as I can while the trees are blooming.
