You never know what you will find when you are out exploring, even in your own backyard. A few years ago, I was working in my backyard. I was getting things ready for winter when I walked up on this massive spider web. I looked closer, and I found this huge spider on it. I knew what I had to do next, I ran back to the house not in terror but in excitement. I grabbed my camera and my close-up lens, and started to take photos of him right away. I know it’s a common outdoor spider, but it’s not often you can photograph one. I was also 2020, and I hadn’t been getting out of the house that much that year.

It’s funny but I also took a photo of a similar looking spider in my garden in 2020! It has a different pattern than the one in your photo but it has black legs and had that white zigzag thingy on its web, too.
