“Be true to your work, your word, and your friend.” – John Boyle O’Reilly

Life has been busy the last few weeks. I decided to tutor students 2 days a week before school. My daughter runs track, my son is preparing for high school, and both kids are involved in church. Needless to say, I have been doing a lot. To keep myself focused and grounded, here is what I have been doing.
👩👧👦I try to keep the focus on my family. It’s easy to lose track of what is going on, but by putting family first it allows me to keep my priorities in line.
✍️I have been trying to keep up with my daily writing. Lately, my posts have been shorter, but I have been trying my best to keep up. I know writing helps me keep my thoughts in order.
💤Sleep is very important. I learned during the pandemic that I was not resting enough. I stayed up all night trying to make great lessons for my students. However, when I would wake up to teach the next morning, I would barely have the energy to be able to do it. Even in this busy season, I am placing a priority on rest.

I took these photos last fall at Marshall Park in Charlotte, N.C. This is a small urban park with a great view of Uptown Charlotte. It is located near many of the government buildings in Charlotte. Often times there are ride out here, and there are peaceful protests happening. I tried to go out on a clear day, but it seemed like every clear day I had was while I was at work. I captured what I could of the fall season.
