“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” – Jack London

Finding places to take pictures is easy. Finding places to take pictures that are inspirational can be a challenge. With digital photography anything can be an opportunity. It’s not like you have to worry about wasting film or running out of film while on a trip. I remember when I was younger, and I would try to make sure I would have plenty of film because I didn’t want to have to buy any while I was gone because the cost would be even higher. Now my imagination can be as large as my memory card. Now I snap photos with no fear of running out. The card in my camera holds around 3,000, and I haven’t come near to running out of room. This allows me to be creative and try different angles without having to worry about it not turning out the way I imagined it. If I don’t like how it turns out, all I have to do is click the delete button.

Last summer, my son and I went hiking at South Mountain State Park. They had some pretty cool waterfalls that I wanted to check out. These shots I posted here are from the journey to the falls. The trail runs along the Jacob Fork River. I loved taking hikes like this last year, and I hope I will have the opportunity to take more in 2023.
