“It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” – Aristotle Onassis

Sometimes we you can’t travel; you have to visit your different places in your hometown more than once. You can try and attempt to take the same photos over and over again, but that doesn’t help with growing your skills as a photographer. When I visit different locations, I try to find a new perspective or angle to capture where I am in a different light. From visiting at different times of the day to just simply laying on the ground as opposed to kneeling, I am able to showcase the different parts of my city in a different way.

I took these photos last summer while I was out riding my bike around Uptown Charlotte. I have visited this park on many occasions, but I still feel like I haven’t captured it in full detail. I used my ND filter on more than one occasion, and stood inside the water feature in order to capture it from the inside. The tricky part was making sure mt camera didn’t get too wet. I’m trying post photos from last year because I took so many great ones that I thought it would be a shame not to show them off.

Below you can see the video I made capturing different parts of the water feature. I used my GoPro to capture these videos because it is waterproof.
