Enjoy the View

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” – Edith Wharton

Most people, when you ask them what their preference is when they travel, always say they prefer a room with a view. When I go anywhere with my kids, they typically fight over who gets to sit in the front. I usually have them play rock, paper, scissors or just have one of them call out “shotgun.” You see more of where you are going in the front seat as opposed to the back. The only time we prefer the back seat is if we are riding in a limousine. We always prefer to see where we are going. This is true in life as well. We like long term plans and predict what the future holds for us. It’s not a bad thing to have long term plans, but we have to be mentally prepared for them to not work out because things happen.

I took these photos last spring when I was enjoying the view. The first time we went on a cruise we had an interior room. That means we had a room with no windows. It wasn’t terrible, I just wanted to have a view on the next one. On our cruise we took over spring break, we had a balcony room. This time we had a view of the ocean. It was perfect for watching the sunrise and set. We were able to see the sunset as we were heading towards the Bahamas. On our first night there, I watched the entire sunset. I took in every minute of it.
