Old Signs

“Our knowledge is a little island in a great ocean of nonknowledge.” – Isaac Bashevis Singer

I am not a fan of the signs they make for businesses today. The plastic faces with a light inside doesn’t give the vibe as a neon covered light. To me, it just looks iconic, and gives a better look. The older signs appear to be works of art. The newer signs seem plain and don’t appear any different from the same sign next to it. I love how the older signs were outlined with neon in order for them to stand out on the side of the road. I took this photo last year when I took a trip to the North Carolina Mountains. We spent a day in Cherokee. We walked around town and checked out the different sites.
