“You are remembered for the rules you break.” – Douglas MacArthur

When you watch someone or see something, do you ever ask yourself why is that? From different things on TV or something different, sometimes I just want to know why something is the way it is. For example, for the last few months, the water Little Sugar Creek at Freedom Park has been brown. The water was never the clear as the mountains, but I felt like it used to be more of a blue color. I wondered what had changed. I remember hearing about how water takes the color of what is fed into it. Then I remembered, upstream they are doing a ton of construction, and more than likely the dirt and debris are getting into the creek causing it to be this color.

I took these photos at Freedom Park a few months ago. This is one of my favorite parks in Charlotte. My grandparents used to live near here, and they would take me here every time I would visit. Freedom Park has everything the perfect park should have. A playground, walking trails, ball fields, and a lake to walk around. It’s a great place to bring the family for the day, or just to come and chill out for the day. I love visiting this park, but I don’t come here as often because it takes me a little longer to ride my bike here. Also, the hill on the way back to straight up for almost 2 miles. It is pretty easy to get there but getting back takes some serious effort.
