“Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.” – Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

Whenever I travel to a new place, I typically I have my camera in hand looking to capture anything I can. It can be overwhelming at times, especially when I am overseas. This is why I like to practice taking photos close to home. This way I can practice understanding lighting, perspectives and angles in order to capture the best possible photo. Practice makes it easier for me to take advantage of being in a new location. Practice also helps me know what to capture. I try to take photos or more than just the major locations, but also different scenes and objects. I will try to showcase the entire experience of where I am at.

I took these photos in Nassau during my recent visit there. These photos are of a statue of Queen Victoria that is located in front of the Parliament buildings in Nassau. The House of Assembly, The Senate and the Supreme Court all occupy buildings in Parliament Square and these buildings are still used today. At the center of the Square sits a statue of Queen Victoria. Funds donated by the Public led to placement of this statue in 1905. The only bummer I had about visiting on this day was the weather was not ideal. I rained most of the day, but I still enjoyed seeing the city.
