“The more sand that has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it.” – Jean Paul

When I visit places, I try out different types of shots with different cameras. I try to avoid using my phone most of the time because I am trying to avoid being distracted by it. My phone has an amazing camera in it, but I try to focus on capturing the shot as opposed to being distracted by everything else. Most photos I take I use my Nikon D7500. I bought it back in 2020 used off eBay. I had just got extra money from work, and I decided to use it to invest in a new to me camera. I got a really good deal on it because I bought it during the lock down of the pandemic. Last year, I bought a GoPro because I wanted something to take underwater when I went snorkeling during spring break. When I got it, I ended up using it for so much more. I use it to take most of my video and sometimes photos of myself because it has a screen on both sides of the camera. I’ve taken videos at the different locations I have visited, attached to my bicycle, videotaped myself teaching and used to take photos underwater. It’s been a great little camera for me, and surprisingly handy.

I took these photos earlier this summer with my GoPro while I was riding my bike around Uptown Charlotte.
