The Tropics

“Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom.” – Hannah Arendt

Everyone has something they love about visiting the tropics. Some love the consistently warm weather (I won’t go science teacher in you and explain why. If you have to know, send me a DM). Others enjoy the beaches with the clear blue water. Some people love the food and culture of the area. One of the things I love is the flowers and the different plants that grow down in the tropics. They have many plants and flowers that bloom all year around because of the warmer weather. I can plant many of these plants at my house in Charlotte, but they usually do not survive the winter. Most of these plants here only get to be so tall, but there they can get pretty large. I love all of the colors that come with tropical plants.

I took these photos on my most recent visit to Nassau. We were hoping for sunshine that day, but we got a bunch of rain instead. We took a bus tour of the city to stay as dry as possible. We were able to see many of the different sites in the area, the Queen’s Staircase, Atlantis, and where they make rum cakes.
