Looking Forward to Fall

“Experience is one thing you can’t get for nothing.”- Oscar Wilde

Going back to work is a sign for me that summer is officially over. The bad part about that is the fun of summer is over, but the heat of summer lingers on. I don’t mind the warmer temperatures when I can do things like go camping and go to the pool. Once I get back to work, having time to do those things comes to an end. With the fun of summer gone, I am looking forward to the cool temperatures of fall. One of my favorite things about fall is when the leaves start to change. I try to sneak up to the mountains at least once to check it out. It also gives me an excuse to drink hot coffee later in the day.

I took these photos back in 2020 when we took a day trip to the mountains. This is one of my favorite places to visit in the fall, Curtis Creek. Curtis Creek is located near Old Fort, North Carolina. All of these amazing views can be seen from the side of the road. If you keep following the road up the mountain, it will lead you to the Blue Ridge Parkway, not too far from Mount Mitchell.
