“One fails forward toward success.” – Charles Kettering

I love a good view, and I will travel to see it. Once a year I try to go on a visit to the North Carolina Mountains. It only takes me a little more than two hours to get there. When I go, I usually plan on checking out a couple of places. Sometimes I revisit places I have been before, other times I try to find a new spot to check out. I try to base my trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway because there are tons of places to check out there. Every few minutes there is a lookout stop that has amazing views to see. There is no shortage of great places to check out in the North Carolina Mountains.

I took these photos during a trip I took to Mount Mitchell last year. The wife and I took a day trip up to the mountains because the kids were busy for the day. We rode the Blue Ridge Parkway until we arrived in Asheville. Then we walked around downtown Asheville for a little bit, and then headed back home. It was a great trip enjoying one of my favorite parts of the state.
