“A man who is a master of patience is master of everything else.” – George Savile

The main reason why I prefer taking landscape photography is because typically the subject doesn’t move, unless it’s water. I’m okay with water moving, but everything else I sometimes lose my patience because it subject is moving too much. Nothing is more frustrating than having the perfect shot, and then the subject decides to move. This happens often when I am taking family portraits when I am using my tripod and the timer. One time we were doing outdoor portraits, and everyone was in the perfect post except for me. I forgot to take my sunglasses off for the shot. We did another one, and it was okay. Finally, I decided to cheat and use Photoshop to switch my face out. It turned out to be a great photo, and if I hadn’t of told you, you would have never known that I had photoshopped it.

I took this photo on Labor Day last weekend while I was riding my bike on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway that runs parallel to Uptown Charlotte. I went down to a spot where I hadn’t been in a while. Right as I was getting ready to leave, I saw this butterfly just chilling out. I’m glad I brought my 55mm-120mm lens so I could get a closer shot of him. I like that lens because it zooms in pretty good, and it doesn’t take up too much space in my bag. I tried to get the best shot of him that I could, but this little guy didn’t want to stay still at all.
