Put in the Work

“Without hustle, talent will only carry you so far.” -Gary Vaynerchuk

One of the things I teach my 5th graders every year is that in order to be successful you have to put in the work. Too often many students think that if you just do the bare minimum, you will be successful. That usually doesn’t work. Even the brightest students might pass, but barely. My goal is to have my students strive to go above and beyond every year. I try to show them every year that in order to be the most successful that it isn’t about talent, it’s about the work you put into it. You get out of school what you want to get out of it. The same is true for us as adults. We cannot lean on our own natural abilities in order to be successful, we have to put in the work on top of it.

These photos are of a park I haven’t visited in a while. These photos were taken at 4th Ward Park in Charlotte, N.C. This is a small walking park in Uptown that has some great water features and beautiful flowers in the summer.
