“Where there is no vision, there is no hope.” – George Washington Carver

Every school year I set goals for myself. For my job I’m supposed to have a professional development plan, and I do those as a formality. The obvious goal I set myself every year is to see my students do well in the subjects I teach. I find ways to know what specifically to look for. It might be from a certain percentage of students to do well on a certain assignment to documenting how my students are doing to ensure they get additional support. I know what I want to see daily, and that helps know if I need to make any changes or if I need to just keep going.

When I go take photos, I usually don’t have a specific goal in mind. Typically, when I go out, I try to capture whatever I can find. The goals I usually have are where I plan on taking the photos as opposed to wondering everywhere. Nature and outdoor lighting tend to be a little unpredictable. I capture what I can, when I can.

A couple of weekends ago the weather was absolutely perfect. I usually don’t go on my bike on the weekends when I volunteer at church, but this was a perfect opportunity for me to. I rode to a couple places I hadn’t been to in a while. I found this small flower garden at Fourth Wad Park in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, and it was filled with bees. I attached my larger lens, and followed this one as he when from flower to flower. This was one of those days when the sunshine was perfect, and I was able to take some awesome pictures.
