“Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.” – Margaret Mead

Who do you think you are? We answer that question in one of two ways, the roles that we have, or by the ways people see us. Too often we allow the latter to be how we view ourselves. When we allow others to determine who we are that makes us feel that we are not enough. We let others’ thoughts about us determine who we think we are. We might not do this around our friend groups or family, but we will allow the number of likes and subscribes to determine how we feel about ourselves. It’s easy to get into a spiral of thinking that you are not doing enough to get likes and become social media famous. Sure, we all want 10K or more in followers, but are we giving up too much of ourselves to get there? Our value is not determined by the likes from random people who we don’t even know on the internet, but by how valuable we see ourselves as a person.

I took these photos a couple of years ago while riding my bike around Freedom Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have been spending time at Freedom Park since I was a kid. The park features several playgrounds, ball fields, a lake with a walking path around it, and it is connected to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. I have many memories of this park, from bike rides with my son to being attacked by a goose when I was younger. Whenever I visit this park, it reminds me of all of those great memories.
