“Trust yourself, you know more than you think you do.” – Benjamin Spock

One of my favorite things to do is to take a day trip up to the mountains. The mountains are only about 2 hours from where I live. I have a couple of spots that I like to visit regularly, and there are some spots that I am still discovering when I go up there. I love checking out the views, discovering waterfalls, and taking short hikes away from the city. The mountains in North Carolina have many amazing views. Even if you have seen them before, you still want to go up there and check it out again and again. Some of the best views can be seen from the side of the road. All you have to do is park your car, and walk a few feet, and there you are.

I took these photos back in 2020. My family and I were going crazy from staying home during the pandemic, and I knew we needed to take a day and get out Charlotte. So, I took us on a drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway in the North Carolina Mountains. This spot is known as Craggy Gardens. In the spring, all of the wildflowers here bloom making it a beautiful scene. Even though nothing was blooming when we visited, the views were still amazing. With the leaves changing, the entire landscape was filled with reds, oranges, and greens. To me the best time to go isn’t at the peak time for the leaves to change. It gets really crowded then, but right before peak or right after isn’t too bad.
