βIn the morning a man walks with his whole body; in the evening, only with his legs.β β Ralph Waldo Emerson

Typically, when I am on vacation, I am not an alarm guy. In fact, my goal is to wake up when I am ready every single day. Even though I don’t wake up to an alarm, I am typically up before 8 on most days. That might not be considered late for many of you, but my normal time to get up is 5:30, so this is later than my usual time. There are some days where an alarm does come in handy on vacation. I usually get up early on the last day because when it’s time to go, it’s time to go. The other reason I will voluntarily get up early is to catch a good sunrise. You can’t do this just anywhere. You have to either be near water or a huge landscape to where you can see it in the distance.

While we were on the cruise, I wanted to capture at least one good sunrise. I decided to get up early on the first day just in case the weather was not good for it that day. I woke up 15 minutes before sunrise was supposed to start, grabbed my camera gear and headed upstairs. When I got up there it was already pretty light outside, and I figured I had missed it. I went inside the buffet to grab myself a pasty and a cup of coffee. While I was sitting inside, I looked up and saw the sun coming out of the clouds. I raced outside with my camera and started to capture as much of it as I could. Here are just a few of the shots I captured that morning.
Let me know in the comments what is something you will wake up early for.
