“We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

I am not a big New Year’s Resolution guy. I have over the years decided that I would do all of this stuff in January only to last a few weeks. This year however, I have some new habits that I want to do this year. Here are a few below:
- I want to read more. I want to be better at writing, and I know the best way to improve that is to read more. However, I not only want myself to read more, but my family as well. Every evening we have designated time where we read together as a family.
- My goal is to go to the gym at least three times a week. I even try to read while I am doing cardio. So far I haven’t fallen off a machine yet.
- My other goal is to give up beef for at least a month. I’m trying to get my blood pressure lower, and I need to cut back on it. I was eating beef a lot. So my focus has been chicken, turkey, and pork.

I took these photos last September while riding my bike to Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. This is one of my favorite places to take photos at because it has a great view of the city, and it isn’t too far away from my house.
