😜Stress, You Either Deal with It or It Deals with You😜

Teaching is a stressful job. From being with students all day to increased responsibilities and demands. So how do I handle it? I have five ways that I manage having a stressful job: sleep, exercise, creativity, family, and faith.

When the Covid lockdowns started, there was a week where we didn’t have much going on because we couldn’t really go anywhere, and I started to go to bed a little earlier. I noticed I started to feel better. When my schedule went back to normal, I started to make sleep and rest a priority.

Over the last year I started to prioritize exercise in my life. I realized I needed to be more active. My favorite way to go is to ride my bike. However, if it’s cold and raining that’s not going to happen. I go to the @planetfitness close to my house. The rates are pretty good, and they have everything I like to do.

One of the main reasons I post online is because it is my way of being creative. I love photography, videography, and writing. Taking the time to make posts gives me an outlet of creativity.

When I make family a priority, then that helps keep me grounded. The main reason why I am successful as a teacher is because of my wife. She has been supportive of my work as an educator for the last 11 years.

Faith has been a center of my life my entire life. When my wife and I got married back in 2012, we decided to always be involved in church. We have had some ups and downs over the years, but the focus on our faith has kept us together. As a family we are very involved with our church. I lead my campus’s parking team every other week, and I have learned more about being a leader from church than anywhere else.

My mindset is one of the main ways I manage stress. By making sleep, exercise, creativity, family and faith a priority I am able to keep my focus on what’s important.
