“A friend is one who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.”

It’s easy to look at someones flaws. They always tend to stick out more than everything else. The trick is finding ways to make sure you focus on the positive instead of focusing on the negatives of someone. One way to think about it is how I look at the photos I took later. Often times I will look at a photo during post, and wonder why I didn’t delete it when I took it. I try to look at it different. I try to remember what I liked about that scene when I first took that photo. When it comes to people, focus on what you like about them before judging them for their flaws.

I took these photos last July when my wife and I took a trip to Durham last July. We took a weekend trip together because our kids were away at church camp. This is at a park near where we took the photos. We hiked around it for a little while. We checkout a photography museum, a stream, and a mill.
