“The need for change bulldozed a road down the center of my mind.” – Maya Angelou

What is the center of your world? This can say a lot about you. To me, the center of your world is defined by where you put the most time and energy investing in. It can easily be seen as our career because we spend most of our time at work, but that is out of necessity. It’s what we do with our time outside of work that can define what has the most value to us. This can range from family and friends to hobbies and interests. While I am writing about this idea, I realize that our worlds are complicated as people. There are so many moving parts and a lot happening at once. If I had to pick one center it would be my faith. My faith has taught me not only how to be a good person, but also an invested husband and father. By prioritizing faith, the majority of my adult life, the results of it have been seen in the person I have become.

The whole idea about thinking about the center of the world came from my bike ride yesterday in Uptown Charlotte. Yesterday was the first time I had rode my bike since before Thanksgiving. It had either been cold, raining, or both since then. It was a little warmer yesterday, so I took advantage and rode more than 8 miles around town. I stopped to take photos of the trees blooming, Marshall Park, and I stopped by a park known as The Green. The Green is a literacy themed park dedicated to famous authors and their works. The goal of this park is to promote reading in the Charlotte area. I rode there hoping to see more trees blooming, but I was disappointed. I did take some shots of the Charlotte sign in the center of the park. This sign features the distance between here and other cities around the world with Charlotte in its name.
