“Everything has been figured out, except how to live.” – Jean-Paul Sartre

Whenever we go on trips, I always try to capture at least one good sunset or sunrise wherever we are. The timing of making both can be tricky based on what’s going on, and what we have planned for the trip. Sunrise is especially tricky because that means I have to wake up early on vacation, and I typically don’t wake up to alarms on vacation. I will wake myself up early at least once to catch the sunrise. Sunsets are easier to catch because I am usually awake. The only thing that can stop me is the weather.

I captured this sunset during our last cruise at Christmas. On our first night at sea, I hung out on the balcony with my camera waiting for it to happen. The conditions were just right for the perfect sunset. This was only one of two evenings I was able to capture a sunset because it was raining the other evenings we were gone.
