I love a good waterfall. Truth is, I will travel a great distance just as the opportunity to see a waterfall. Fortunately for me, I live only a few hours away from some good ones. My family prefers the falls that are not too far from the parking lot, but sometimes the best falls take a journey to see. As for me, I love a good hike. It gives me an opportunity to appreciate the destination, and it is a journey to enjoy.
A couple of summers ago, my family and I camped near South Mountain State Park. This is a hidden gem only 50 miles east of Charlotte, North Carolina. From well-kept trails to beautiful views, it’s a must see for any looking for some time in nature. One of the highlights of the trip for me was when we hiked to Big Bear Falls. It’s not the biggest as the state park, but it is an incredible sight.
