“Silence is the mother of truth.” – Benjamin Disraeli

We all need a place of peace. We need to be somewhere that allows us to disconnect from everything and give us time to focus. This is how we stay energized and ready for the challenges ahead. Too often, we don’t set aside time for ourselves to be able to process what is happening around us. Today’s world demands that we respond to something quickly without taking the time to process what is happening. When we do this, we make poor decisions and often lack the clarity to fully understand what is truly going on. This is why we need a place to get away from everything, even if it is just for a few moments, and reflect on life.

For me, I the place I seek clarity at is riding my bike. I can’t look at my phone while going, so the only thing I can focus on is the road and what’s going on inside my head. This allows me to reflect and focus. Most of the distractions are gone, and this time allows me to have clarity. There is a place I like to go to on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway in Charlotte that I like to visit. It’s close to Uptown, but you really don’t see it. The noise from the creek drowns out the sound of the city, so you don’t feel like you are even there.
