Water Moves

“Either move or be moved.” – Ezra Pound

I have always wondered why places like to have water features installed near them. They seem like they can be expensive and take up space. It might actually be because there are health benefits in gazing at bodies of water. There are real studies that have shown that staring at a body of water can lower your heart rate, your blood pressure, and reduce overall stress. This might explain why I seek out water whenever I go out and take photos. Most of photos involve some kind of body of water. Usually when I go out on my bike, I usually stay for a moment and enjoy the scene ater I finish taking photos. I guess the best advice I can offer is, when you are feeling stressed, go seek out some water and just unplug for a moment.

I took these photos a while bike while I was riding my bike around Uptown Charlotte. One of my favorite places to ride is near First Ward Park. First Ward Park is one of the newer parks in Charlotte. It features a huge field, work out equipment, and a splash park feature. Behind it is UNC Charlotte’s Uptown building, and it features a fountain behind it. The view from the fountain provides a great view of Uptown Charlotte in the background, and it’s a great place to relax with a great view of the city.
