“There are no shortcuts in evolution.” – Louis D. Brandeis

One of my goals this summer is to spend more time being active and outside. While I have to work during the summer, I am going to try and take advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. In fact, most days I would rather be outside than inside. The only thing that can keep me inside is the rain, and possible too much humidity. I have a few spots I love to hand out at in Charlotte, but some times the best place I can be is in my own backyard.

I took these photos a few weeks ago while I was riding my bike around Uptown Charlotte. Marshall Park is one my favorite places to visit in Charlotte because it’s close to my house and has a great view of the city. While this older urban park doesn’t have a lot to offer, it does offer a great view of the city that I like to check out from time to time.
