Sunset at Nassau

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” – Soren Kierkegaard

I appreciate sunsets and sunrises for different reasons. I love a good sunrise because it is a great start to the day. Typically to catch the sunrise I have to wake up early and prepare my camera gear the night before so I don’t miss it. With sunsets, it’s all about being there at the right time. A sunset is a great ending to a good day. Most of the time I take photos of the sunset while I am on vacation, and I try to capture at least one sunrise and one sunset while I am traveling.

I took these photos when I visited the Bahamas over Christmas break. We spent the day in Nassau riding in a semisubmersible, which was okay in the end. We didn’t see that many fish when we went. We then walked around the shops in Nassau seeing what we could find, and then we spent the evening on the balcony as the ship left port. Our cruise ship departed at sunset, and I was able to capture these photos as we were heading back out to sea.
