“Every great inspiration is but an experiment – though every experiment we know, is not a great inspiration.” – Charles Ives

I see this question a lot, sunrise or sunset? For me, it’s difficult to choose because some of my best photos are of the sunrise and sunset. Both moments completely change the colors of the landscape. During a few moments of the day, both can make the simplest shots amazing. Sunrise and sunset are all about the timing. I always try to arrive at where I want to shoot in a few minutes because it’s supposed to start in order to get in the best position for capturing photos. I make sure my camera is ready to go, so I don’t want to miss a single moment.

I captured this sunrise during our last cruise in the Bahamas. Our ship just docked in Nassau, and we had big plans for the day. This was the first time we were visiting Nassau when there was no chance for rain that day. Since it wasn’t completely cloudy outside, I wanted to take advantage of the good weather. I woke up early, got my camera, and headed to the top of front of the ship. I was able to get some get shots that morning.
