“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

I have been a fan of neon signs for a while. To me they just look better than today’s modern signs. I get why signs are the way are now because they are cheaper and easier to change out. There are still some from the past that are still standing.

Imagine walking around Uptown Charlotte, you need some flowers, and you see the sign that says Ratcliffe’s Flowers. You think that there is a flower shop here. You’re going to be disappointed. The flower shop has been closed since the late 1980’s. The sign still stands. This sign has been designated a historical landmark in Charlotte, and has been preserved since then. The building that was there was moved to a different part of town when the underground parking deck was built. The Ratcliffe’s Flowers sign is located in Uptown Charlotte next to the park known as The Green.
