“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.” – Dalai Lama

One of my favorite roads to travel in the United States Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway covers a wide range of habitats along the Appalachian Mountains, and some of these habitats are exceptionally rare. Visitors encounter unsurpassed diversity of climate, vegetation, wildlife and geological features. The views from the Parkway are amazing. It’s hard not to stop at every pullover point and take several pictures. The photos I have taken of the area rarely do justice to how beautiful it is. I took these photos a couple of years ago when my wife and I were on the way to Mount Mitchell.

The region of Western North Carolina has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. I have been posting past photos of the region to bring attention to it by showcasing the beauty of it, and bringing attention to the various nonprofits supporting the regions. Convoy of Hope has been busy delivering food, water, and supplies to the region. Our church has supported this organization for a long time, and we have seen a lot of the great work they do. If you are looking for a way to support the region, donating to them is a great way to do it. Go to https://convoyofhope.org/donate/ to donate.

Check out this view from Mount Mitchell. It’s not too far from where I took these photos.
